Many of the larger industrial concerns in world industry have learnt the lesson that " health is wealth," and pioneer among them in the tropics, perhaps, stands the United Fruit Company with its splendid and beneficial record of public health work in tropical America. The conference at Kingston, Jamaica, from July 22nd to August 1st, 1924, was held at the instance of the company and was attended by some 88 delegates, whilst 71 papers were read.
